A Journey into the Unknown

Hi there, welcome to Ooh, Spooky! What is it that we (I, it’s just me, but we sounds more official) do here?

For a while now I’ve been stuffing things in a big list of stuff that I thought was interesting enough to warrant further investigation, be it UFOs, ghosts, cults, spooky places, you name it! This list got so dense and overgrown that I decided it was time to cull the forest…but what do I do with all those felled trees? Well, I thought to myself it made sense to turn them in to short(ish) essays about particular topics, with a bit of narrative thrown in to keep it interesting. Which brings us here, to Ooh, Spooky, a semi-regular newsletter, where each dispatch will contain my findings about an interesting topic of a somewhat spooky nature.

What’s been going on?

If you’re new, welcome! Posts on Ooh, Spooky consist of not only essay-like content about a given mysterious topic, but also narrative components that feature one of our (ever expanding) cast of characters.

If you’d like to catch up on what any of those characters have been up to, click the link below to jump to page that I update with synopses of their various exploits.

Why should I subscribe?

Great question!

Well, if any of the following sound interesting to you, then you might like to stick around here:

  • Strange radio stations spewing out codes for spies

  • Zombies in the Himalayas

  • A text file containing hundreds of rules that seem to govern reality

  • A town in Wisconsin that doesn’t exist

…and many more!

Not only that, but I’ll be planning to embellish these posts with a little narrative, and who knows, maybe some recurring characters. It’s all a great experiment!

So if that sounds good to you, hit the button and I’ll see you in your inbox!
